This sets the range of multiples buyers typically pay in your industry and the timeline your plan is built around.
Your numbers for the last full year
Rough figures from your tax return or P&L are fine. Buyers look at what the business earns for one full-time owner, so your pay and perks are added back in.

This score and value range are preliminary estimates based only on the figures and answers you entered. They are not an appraisal or an opinion of value. A business is ultimately worth what a ready, willing and able buyer pays, and a full valuation reviews tax returns, add-back support, assets, comparable sales and financing. Larger businesses are often valued on EBITDA rather than SDE.
The six areas buyers check
Every buyer, and every lender behind them, asks the same question: will this business keep earning after the owner leaves? Your score measures how well your business answers it.
Financial clarity
Clean books, documented add-backs and tax returns that match your P&L. Buyers only pay for earnings they can verify, and SBA lenders verify against tax returns.
Owner independence
Whether the business runs, sells and decides without you. This is usually the single biggest driver of the multiple.
Revenue quality
How much revenue repeats, how spread out it is across customers, and whether customer agreements transfer to a new owner.
Team and operations
A management layer, written processes and key people who will stay. These make the business transferable and easier to finance.
Growth and market position
A steady trend, room to grow and a reason customers choose you. Buyers pay for momentum and a story they can believe.
Deal readiness
A lease or real estate that works for a buyer's loan, clean licenses and legal matters, and a clear plan for your life after the sale. These are the issues that stall deals late.
