This sets the size of business your numbers are measured against.
Your capital
With SBA financing, buyers put in at least 10% of the total project cost, and lenders want to see reserves left over. Rough numbers are fine.

This score and buying power estimate are general guides based only on what you entered. They are not a loan approval, pre-qualification or financial advice. SBA rules require an equity injection of at least 10% of total project cost for a change of ownership, and a seller note can count toward up to half of it only if it is on full standby for the life of the loan. Actual financing depends on the business's cash flow, your credit, experience and collateral, and each lender's policies.
What makes a buyer deal-ready
Good businesses often get more than one interested buyer. Sellers and their brokers pick the buyer most likely to close, and SBA lenders decide who gets financed. Your score measures how you look to both.
Capital
Cash for the down payment, plus room for closing costs, working capital and your own reserves after closing.
Experience
Managing people, running a budget and knowing the industry. Lenders weigh relevant experience heavily, especially for first-time owners.
Financing
Credit, a lender relationship, and a willingness to sign the personal guarantee SBA loans require from owners of 20% or more.
Deal readiness
Proof of funds, advisors lined up, everyone who needs to agree on board, and a timeline that matches the market.
